His singing and acting skills were well honed by his mother ever since he was a child at school. Having given up his career in fashion designing to concentrate on his music, Asif is now part of the Hindi pop duo ‘Mantra’, well known for their hit album ‘Jantar Mantar’ he is also actively involved in the Bombay theatre scene and has worked with some of the country’s finest directors including Alyque Padamsee, Lilette Dubey and Rahul DeCunha.
