“Khote – Khare Jewellers” is a jewellery shop owned by Khote and Khare. Khare is a bachelor and lives above their shop. Khote is married to beautiful laila who used to be a regular customer at their shop. She used to have a soft-corner for Khare, but Khare smartly loved her & they get married.

Since khote stayed just above the shop, he had installed a burglar alarm which starts ringing. While the alarm is still ringing, he receives a telephone call saying that tonight his shop was going to be robbed. Gasping, goes down to his shop.

Meanwhile a stranger enters in Khote house through a window. He has a revolver in his hand. He fires 5 shots in air, thinking one bullet is enough for one person. Hearing the bullets noise Khote rushes up. On seeing each other, they both start shouting thinking the other one is a theif. But soon the misunderstanding is cleared & that the stranger is not a theif but an inspector, Inspector Gore, Inspector Gore tells Khote that he came up hearing the alarm and tells him to be alert as there is a strong possibility of a robbery.

After the inspector leaves, Khare enters the house with help of a duplicate key. Formerly the house belonged to Khare himself but new he had given it to Khote. He comes in and dials a number to speaks to is girlfriend, whose name is also Liala. He asks her to come near his shop to sit in a black fiat parked next to the shop with the help of the duplicate keys of the car which she already has.

Khare then goes to Khote wife Laila comes at Khote’s place. She is all wet and is in distress. She asks Khote help and asks 15 thousand rupees from him she says that a magzine has printed her nude photographs & she needed the money so that she could buy all the copies of the magzines. Khote agrees to help & tells to freshen up.

Meanwhile Khare and his girlfriend Laila are going in Khare black fiat. Amirchand shops near a wine-shop to buy some liquor. He asks Laila to hide beneath the backseat while he is gone. While he is away, a theif grabs the opportunity and steals the car & throws all his stolen items in the backseat of the car.

When Khare returns he sees his car & Laila are no longer there & assumes the car is stolen. He comes at Khote place to tell him so. He insists that Khote must tell the police that he himself was driving the car & had left it unlocked to buy liquor at the wine-shop. While explaining all this, he notices Laila, his wife’s clothes there. He takes all this in a wrong sense and thinks that his wife & his patner are having a relationship. Fakirchand denies all this & hides Laila’s clothes in the oven. To prevent further confusion he purposely shouts aloud that Khare, Your wife Laila’s not here so that Laila would understand that not to come out of the bathroom.

Khare is frantically searching for Laila his wife, but meanwhile Laila has sifted from bathroom to bedroom. Khote goes to the bedroom and covers up Laila under the bedsheet and goes and sleeps on the bed. But Laila’s feet are left uncovered. Khare sees them and tickels them, but the reaction is seen on Khote face as if those are his legs.

On the same inspector, Inspector gore, comes to investigate about the stolen car. While investigating, like decided, Khote gives the statement that he was driving the car. While taking the statement, the inspector gets a call that the car was found & along with it they found the girl with other stolen jewellery & cash. As soon as Khare realises that the girl the inspector was talking about was none other than Laila. He again pressurizes Khote to tell that Laila is his girlfriend & not a theif. On saying so, Khote tells so.

While investingating, Laila tells police that she is not a theif or gangster but Khote’s girlfriend. Police drops her at fakirchand’s place, as soon as she reaches there she shouts “ Khote but when Khote goes to her, she instead goes & hugs Khare. She also mentins that they both are going to be married.

Hearing all this Khote is shocked. Khare has been using his name, his cash, his car, his address for all this time to woo his girlfriend. Also hearing Laila’s words, Laila, Khare wife comes out of the bedroom, who is now pest in a towel. Thus Khare is left for no where to go.
