Chaitanya Bhosle 'Chin2'

INTERVIEW

A boarding school product, B.Com graduate and a post graduate from one of Mumbai’s premiere Business schools, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Chaitanya Bhosle or Chin2 as he’s better known is soon to be the next entrant into the Indian music scenario(why the 2 in Chin2 ? “Because one of me is not enough” he says with a chuckle !!)

But this guy comes equipped with a lot more than just vocal talent. Chin2 is a direct descendant from the lineage of the very household which has given this country some of its best music for several decades now. The more perceptive of you would have by now made the ‘Bhosle’ connection. Yup, Asha Bhosle’s grandson, the first of the next generation Bhosle blood is finally all set to emerge onto the music scene.

Worked with Percept as an Event Management Executive he has handled various events such as the launch of Baume and Mercier (a Swiss watch), a mega concert in Delhi (artistes included Lucky Ali, Colonial Cousins, Sukhbir and Sunita Rao), etc. After which he shifted to mainstream advertising and joined the second largest advertising agency in India, Ammirati Puris Lintas, as a client servicing executive where he serviced clients such as Jet Airways, Air France, Foster’s Beer, KBN, etc.

After a year of working with Lintas he started feeling restless. As he says “My genes were beginning to power-up”. And so he quit his job and is now pursuing music as his career. But isn’t that risky? “Well, I didn’t want to wake up at the age of 40, a Managing Director et all and think - gosh I wonder what life would have been like if I had sung my way through it ? Since I would not be able to turn back the clock and rectify my life then, I thought there is no better time than now !”.

So the inevitable question - What’s on the cards? “Well, I’m in the process of composing my own album . . .yeah yeah, I’m sure everyone’s probably groaning and saying - not another one !! . . .but I guess the world will have to wait and see if it really is all in the blood!!”
