Get your facts right. Appu Raja is one of Kamal Hassan's best remembered films, and it released in '87, more than a decade before Hindustani. No self-respecting Indian movie goer would make a statement like that. Also, the dwarf in that movie was not about make-up, he was created on the editing table, just FYI.
While Appu Raja was way ahead of its time, Dashavataram is a movie I can never forgive Kamal Hassan for. This incredible actor has gone so overboard with his obsession with make-up, hasn't anyone noticed that most of his characters in this movie look less real than Madam Trussaud's wax statues? Why can't he just stick to performance? I won't even go into other drawbacks in the script, narration, dubbing and co-actors.
