Girish Karnad’s recent play, FLOWERS is based on a folktale from Chitradurga. The play is about a priest whose life has become a balancing act between his passionate love for God and his equally passionate love for his courtesan. One day he is caught off guard as these two worlds collide.
The dramatic monologue is produced by Arundhati Nag’s Ranga Shankara. Rajit Kapur who won the national award for his performance in 'The Making of the Mahatrma' is the central character. The play is directed by Roysten Abel, who won the Best Play award at Edinburgh for his interpretation of OTHELLO. The production brings together the best of the Indian theatre professionals.
At Prithvi Theatre from the 20th March to 25th March.
