One of the biggest Hinglish play of all times - BEGUM SAHIBA is scheduled for release in Mumbai on 7th November, 2009. It has four stage shows in the calendar month of November in Mumbai at theatres - Sophia & Rang Sharda. This is actor Rahul Roy's debut in theatre. Rahul Roy entered Bollywood in 1990 with Mahesh Bhatt's film Aashiqui. Poonam Dasgupta on the other hand has done over 300 films in various languages and has also acted in TV serials.

Sonu Nigam will be singing for the Theatre for the first time. Sawan Kumar Tak has written the lyrics and Usha Khanna is music director. The play has been conceived by Poonam Dasgupta and her co-writer is Kiran Advekolanu. He has also directed the production.
