Salif Arif's Essay Communications will premiere its new play ATTHANNIYAAN OF MUMBAI MAHANAGAR, written by Gulzar at Prithvi Theatre from 3rd to 5th November 2009 at 9:00 pm. The play has been directed by Salif Arif and features actors Lubna Salim and Yashpal Sharma along with others.

The three stories in the play - BASS, JHHADI and ATTHANNI are supported by poems about life on the footpaths of Mumbai. Some of these poems are put to music by Aamod Bhatt. An interesting aside of the show is an intensive photographic /visual exercise done by the students of the Fashion Communication course at NIFT on the Poems and stories of ATTHANNIYAAN...Taking cue from various themes in the show, they are looking at the megapolis with renewed vigour and insight. Some of the select pictures will be put on display at Prithvi on the show dates.
