Mallika Shah considers herself as one of the most promising faces of the contemporary Gujarati theatre scene in Mumbai. She developed an inclination for the theatre while studying at Mithibai college, where she participated in Inter- Collegiate drama competitions. She won many awards and appreciation certificates for her participation in competitions such as the Mumbai University Youth Festival, Copwud and IPTA-ICDC.
In fact it was at one such competition that she was noticed by theatre people, Babul Bhavsar and Kamlesh Mota. Under their guidance she started performing professional plays for Sangeet Kala Kendra. She acted in more than 10 professional plays in Gujarati as well as in Hindi between 1998 and 2004. She then went on to act in various social dramas and these include plays such as PAPAN BHINU PANETAR, MAAN MAUJILA, KAANCH NA SAMBANDH, GURU DEVO BHAVA, MANE KOI ROKO MA and the recent BAA BAPUJI NI TWENTY TWENTY.
Mallika firmly believes in imparting the knowledge that she has acquired. She believes in no particular school of Acting and would rather go by the experience that she has had to date.
