Ajit Kelkar stages the performance of Padmavibushan R.K. Laxman’s ‘Common Man’. It is a one-artist performance, written by Anil Joglekar and has been translated into English by Gautam Joglekar. The audio-visual staged presentation incorporates Mr. Laxman’s select cartoons. The common man narrates his story over a period of 50 years, commenting profusely on the socio-political scenario.

R.K. Laxman’s Common Man has been looked upon by many people as someone who not only tickles their sense of humour but also as someone who is a profound thinker and a reformist. A couple of generations of educated Indians have eagerly awaited the morning newspaper to meet the common man. This character has a wide fan-following. The play is a tribute to this very common man.
