Welcome to the Republic of Bapu! Rayasang Jadeja is a typical kathiawari bapu, residing in Jam khambhalia (Gujarat) and owns 3000 acres of sprawling land. His son Raghlo is a very fashionable boy as per rural standards and has a dreamgirl who he would like to marry. One fine day to their great astonishment, Mr. Shah (secretary of noted industrialist Mukesh Ambani) offers them a whopping sum of Rs. 90 crores for their piece of land where they intend to set up their petroleum refinery project. After much hesitation Mr. Jadeja decides to sell the land and upon his son's request decides to move to the finest city, Mumbai where his son has the sole desire of meeting his dream girl. They along with their friend Boghad, who has a tiny frame come to Mumbai. They purchase a luxurious duplex flat worth Rs. 30 crores in a posh area of south bombay and his son bumps into his dream girl who resides in the opposite building and falls in love with her at first sight..however his feelings are not reciprocated by the girl who is an aspiring singer and wants to make it big in life by winning the Indian idol contest..which would be instrumental in realising her dream of buying the duplex flat overlooking their home, where currently Mr. Jadeja resides.

On the other hand there are lots of complaints received by the secretary of the housing society against the Jadejas on account of their lack of civic sense and ettiquete. Mr. Shah suggests Mr. Jadeja to appoint a tutor who would reside with them for a period of two months. Thus walks in Professor Pratham Majumdar who starts residing with the Jadejas.. as fate had it, he falls in love with the same girl residing opposite their house and also little Boghad begins to like her at first sight. As things progress, Mr. Jadeja and the girl become friends too!
