Presented by Avni Creations, DEVNA DIDHEL centers on a well-to-do couple’s saga of finding their lost son. Said to “explore new dimensions of motherhood”, the play promises to trigger a range of emotions.
The “Devki-Yashodha” syndrome holds the key to this play. The rich couple does everything in its capacity to find their son, till one day they discover him to have grown up in a chawl in Kandivali. He is found to be the son of a pickle maker called Jassuben Desai who has been living in the chawl.
It’s been ten years since the couple had last seen their son and suddenly a lot of questions crop up such as “What is Mohan’s (the lost son) life like after growing up in the absence of the good things of life?”, What kind of a person he has become?” or “Who is responsible for moulding his personality?”
The couple’s search thus turns into a learning experience of sorts and if the concept note is to be believed, “the stage is set for a unique play of love and longing”. In short, please do not forget to carry your handkerchiefs for this one. I am sure the team of DEVNA DIDHEL will recommend so!
