Dusaraya lagnacha Prakaran

By MTG editorial

Based on Neil Simon’s CHAPTER TWO, the play belongs to four characters who are approaching life in their own ways, and all of them are in search of a partner. Nikhil (a writer) and Anita (an actress) believe in a committed relationship. Nikhil is depressed with the loss of his wife and Anita still craves for a routine life after her divorce. With a strong desire to overcome their troubled pasts, they together struggle and manage to start a fresh life with each other.

On the other hand, Lobhan (a publicity agent and also Nikhil’s brother) and Momo (an actress and friend of Anita) are not clear of their needs and expectations from their partners. Their respective marriages have reached a saturation point and hence both are looking out for some temporary relief. The nuances of marriage as an institution and the need for a life partner form the flavor of the play. As each character has experienced marriage, they find themselves gripped by the emotions of having a new relationship and maintaining it. While they grow with their respective relationships, the expectations are still there and there is also the the disappointment of not having them fulfilled. The ways in which the characters tackle their relationships adds humour to the play.
