Akshay Kumar is one actor who has always done variety of films in the past, be it making his mark with action oriented films to some comedy films and then taking over some immense and hard hitting patriotic films like RUSTOM, AIRLIFT and many more.
His last film TOLIET: EK PREM KATHA was a socially relevant film, and now he will be seen in PAD MAN, which stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, which is produced by Twinkle Khanna.
The film talks about use of menstrual hygiene and how a common man helped his wife and spread awareness about the use of pads.
During media interactions, with Akshay Kumar when he was asked how well versed was he with the issue of menstrual hygiene and does his son Aarav know about periods to which he said, “When I was 19 or 20 I learned about menstrual, but I wasn’t well versed, a year back I researched in detail about it. When I was young, females in my family wouldn’t talk about it openly that’s how they have grown and it’s their culture, hope after the film people openly talk about it.”
He went on to say, “As far as Aarav knowing about it, Twinkle has already briefed well, we don’t hide anything from kids. I don’t lead a double standard life, I practice what I preach.”
When asked Akshay Kumar what was his biggest fear while filming PAD MAN, Akki said, “When I was wearing a pink panty with a pad just for 30 seconds I had a small fear, that’s it.”
