This Friday will witness an interesting clash with two well promoted and mounted projects- Diljit -Sonakshi’s WELCOME TO NEW YORK and Luv Ranjan’s (PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA fame) SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY, vying for the attention of the audience. The front runner will obviously be SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY because of the Gen X and campus crowd appeal of the subject. Having said that WELCOME TO NEW YORK too will find its patrons especially in Delhi-NCR, as well as East Punjab (due to Diljit).

Checking out last Friday’s prominent release, Neeraj Pandey’s Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer, AIYAARY, the film, which saw a fair start, could not build on it and ended the opening weekend netting an ordinary 12-13 crore. With the weekend not throwing up good numbers, the film has its task cut out. AIYAARY is fair in the overseas grossing £42,000 in the UK and $350,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (16-18 February).
