This premier release of the week, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Shahid, Deepika and Ranveer starrer, PADMAAVAT, managed an excellent show despite all the impediment(s). The Wednesday paid previews yielded 6 crore while Thursday added another 18 crore. The Republic day saw a huge 32 crore. To cut a long story short, during the opening weekend PADMAAVAT netted a brilliant 110 crore (including paid previews). And that without a full all India release (in many states) and partial release in a few states. Given the steady week days run, PADMAAVAT is all set to be a hit, how big or small, only time will tell. PADMAAVAT has also rocked the overseas grossing $12m with £690,000 from UK and $5,000,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (26-28 January).
