Breaking the various societal boundaries of life has been a fundamentally important message drawn from &TV’s MITEGI LAKSHMAN REKHA. The show highlighted Kanchan’s deep past, and recently took a bold move while revealing the unfortunate incident that scarred her for life. While Kanchan (Shivani Tomar) may have refused to let her past come in the way of her present, she could not stop the society from doing the same. Focusing on Kanchan’s determination and courage to move ahead, the show has also captured the mindset of the society and showcased how rape survivors are usually victimized for no fault of their own and looked down upon.

The current track brings a fresh turn of incidents as Vishesh (Rahul Sharma) and Kanchan's marriage plans are on the verge of being shelved as Kanchan deals with the aftermath of her broken engagement. Caused by Manika’s (Karuna Vermaa) evil intentions to break the wedding, she decides to humiliate Kanchan on her engagement by showing the video of the incident in front of the royal family. While the family will be seen turning their back to the wedding, Kanchan will find her biggest support in her father and sister. Like a real man, Vishesh will also be seen holding Kanchan's hand and refusing to deter despite his family’s opinion. His constant attempts to trace down Kanchan’s rapist showcase his endless love for her.

Sharing his thoughts on the track, lead actor Rahul Sharma a.k.a Vishesh said, “With the onset of an evolved thinking pattern in the country we live in today, we maintain a heightened level of maturity and awareness that a rape survivor is not at fault for the episode has taken place in her life. While we preach this, not many practice it and are seen hesitating to take their side. The easiest way out is to blame the woman raped, justifying the occurrence of the incident with either her negative fate or her so called ‘incorrect’ style of dressing, behaviour, so on and so forth"

With the current track in MITEGI LAKSHMAN REKHA, we wish to break this mentality and urge people to bring in a change in their thought-process regarding rape survivors, educating them that it’s never the clothes or a woman’s destiny that leads to mishaps like this. By bringing to light various instances of society’s behaviour towards a rape survivor, we hope that the audience starts empathizing with them rather than showing plain sympathy towards them.” Arriving at another tough phase of her life, will Kanchan ever be accepted by the royal family? Will Vishesh’s dream of marrying Kanchan come true?
