Nothing official about this.. but the market is buzzing with whispers of Kapil Sharma’s upcoming movie FIRANGI getting postponed for good.
According to our market sources, FIRANGI till yesterday evening has not obtained the censor certificate from the CBFC. The movie will be passed without much of a problem as the movie is said to be a light hearted family comedy set during the British colonial rule in India and revolves around Kapil's character, who is of the opinion that the British Raj is of no harm.
The source adds that even if the makers receive the censor certificate today, it will give them less time to release the film in UAE this Thursday. FIRANGI is slated to relese this friday on November 24 2017. Bollywood films are released in UAE on Thursday owing to Holiday on Friday. Kapil Sharma has a huge fan following in UAE and overseas and this might hamper the movie prospects. Though he has a huge following in India but the makers rightly want to cash on his popularity in UAE.
Our attempt to get in touch with the makers and the concerned authorities failed as they were busy in chalking out the release plans.
Produced by Kapil Sharma and helmed by Rajiev Dhingra, FIRANGI stars Kapil Sharma, with Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill.
