Actor Shrivallabh Vyas, who is better known for his role in Aamir Khan starrer LAGAAN, as per the reports doing the rounds breathed his last after suffering from prolonged illness for the last 10 years.
On 13th October 2008 Vyas suffered a paralytic attack & brain stroke while shooting for a film in Gujarat. And since then he was bed-ridden going through the treatment. Due to the financial issues, Vyas family shifted from Jaisalmer to Jaipur for his treatment. Shrivallabh Vyas was 60 and survived by his wife Shobha Vyas and two daughters.
According to his wife Shobha, the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) did not support him financially, despite the association had set up a trust for the actors who are suffering from losses. The family felt disappointed with the little amount of help and so refused them all. Later actors like Irrfan Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Manoj Bajpayee came to his rescue and provided some financial help for the treatment.
A student of National School of Drama, Shrivallabh Vyas proved his mettle in films like SHOOL, SARFAROSH, ABHAY, SANKAT CITY, NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE: The Forgotten Hero and theater works such as Virasat in 1985.
