Horror and comedy are two distant genres when it comes to filmmaking and if crafted in a wonderful script together it can hold the audiences to their seat for the entire duration which is exactly what director Faraz Haider is trying to accomplish with NANU KI JAANU.
The film stars Abhay Deol and Patralekha in lead roles which shows Abhay’s character to be somewhat of a hardened goon who gets spooked by the ghost of a girl and how his character soon goes through changes and the rollercoaster of emotions he goes through instead of the usual rage.
Patralekha essays the role of a ghost who haunts the house where Abhay Deol lives in and turns his life around, in the trailer there are funny moments where we see a handful of action along with a few funny snippets from the movie, we see Manu Rishi Chaddha’s character can be seen hanging upside down and there are many hilarious moments in the film. However, Patralekha, who although plays a ghost in the film, isn’t seen throughout the trailer.
Director Faraz Haider’s attempt to bring two opposing genres in the same film is the sort of novel idea is what Bollywood is missing and hopefully this film opens the floodgates to inspire upcoming filmmakers to branch out and bring their wildest ideas to the silver screen.
Produced by Sajid Qureshi, the film releases on April 20th 2018.
