In conversation with Shreyas he spoke about films and more:
Excerpts from the interview:
How has your journey been so far?
It’s been one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Ups and downs and what not. The good times have been super lovely and the bad times have been rather bitter. But all in all I have grown stronger and hopefully smarter. And the best part is, I for certain know that I want to be right here in the film industry and make my mark. The journey from YAARIYAN up till now has humbled me in so many different ways and I have learnt the art of Gratitude and spreading love.
Your recent play received allocates, how do u feel about that?
I performed the play The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, directed by Jeff Goldberg and staged at the Royal Opera House. The character I played ‘Algernon Moncrieff’, and the play itself has been so very special me that when I received positive feedback the sense of satisfaction was just so amazing. It felt like ‘Yes, accomplished this baby’ haha! Theatre is one such art form where you can get lost in your character for 2 whole hours on stage and no one will disturb you. The feeling is surreal.
You were opposite Hrithik’s cousin pashmina, how was it working with her?
Just like her brother she is a powerhouse. What a brilliant actor but more importantly what a humble and brilliant human being. After the shows I would go up to her and thank her because I feel a lot of my acting was brought out by her stellar performance. Acting is reacting and you need a powerful actor opposite you to bring out the best in you.
Hrithik had also seen the play how was it when you met him post the play?
I love him. A real Greek God! I was so excited to meet him in Person and when he shook my hand and congratulated me it felt just awesome. It was indeed an honour to perform in front of superstar like him.
We have heard you are a big fan of Vidya balan, tell us something more about the fanboy in you.
I just love Vidya Balan. She is just so brilliant. Her laughter her acting everything about her. I can go on and on talking about how much I love her. I was an audience member for one of her interviews with Anupama Chopra, it was during the promotions of Begum Jaan. I remember meeting her and giving her a small Sai Baba photo frame as she has mentioned in one of her earlier interviews that she would visit Baba’s temple. I really pray that Baba blesses Vidya ma’am in every walk of her life.
What are your future projects?
I have just finished working on two short films and one web series. Currently I am directing a play and working on the script of another play.
