When it comes to some strong female-oriented films the one name that strikes in mind is Vidya Balan. She made her debut in film PARINEETA directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Later she delivered some fine movies like LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI, PAA, HALLA BOL and more. But her biggest hit as a women-centric film was THE DIRTY PICTURE (2010) which showcased her talent to some another level. Though the content was bold the purpose of the film was meaningful. The film proved a blockbuster at the box office and her next thriller mystery flick KAHAANI (2011) yet again grabbed a lot of success. The actress bagged a lot of awards consecutively for these films. Her last TUMHARI SULU that released in 2017 was again a big blockbuster.
In a conversation with a tabloid, the actress confirmed that her upcoming biopic on Indira Gandhi will be a web series as the content cannot be presented in a single film. Vidya Balan will play Indira Gandhi in an adaptation of journalist Sagarika Ghose’s book Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister. Ever since the announcement the critics and fans praised her for her being the perfect fit for the role.
The series will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala. It is yet to go floors as the script is not ready yet.
