The greatest ever Garba Mahotsav from 28th September to 6th October.
S. S. Cultural group-engaged in cultural events was established in 1997 by Mr.
R. C. Singh & Mrs. Jyoti Sagar.
We are an organisation that firmly believes in
the richness of Indian Costumes, Traditions its Heritage. All our attempts is a
conscious effort to stick to our roots & identify ourselves with them.
We are
proud of our distinct forte. Our future plans are organising of cultural events
& promoting Indian tradition & heritage to international level.
Our current plan
is organising Traditional Navratri With " Taliyo Na Taley”. We are being
'Sutradhars' or 'Weather Wane' to indicate that without our knowledge the richness
of owr culture is slipping away like sand/water from our land. There is a total
collapse of traditional folk music and an excrescence of fusion-confusion-pop,
drop..... killing the originality & purpose of Navratri Utsav.
Our intention is
not to culpate any culture or tradition or somebody but to exculpate ourselves.
We are trying to carve a distinct 'niche' for all the cultural vultures in
association with "Talivo Na Taley-by Daksha Vegada”.
This Garba Mohatsav 2000 will have no fusion-confusion but only "transfusion
of modernism in its original sense”.
A real attempt to restore our tradition which we sincerely feel is a Mutatis
Mutandis-a necessary alteration.
Theme of endeavoring in Traditional Navratri:-
S. S. Cultural group is dedicated and devoted to enlighten the masses through
Traditional Navratri. It firmly believes that Indian Folk Raas & Garba has lot
of strength & the purpose to sing them was to praise the Goddess Durga- the
Goddess of power- goodness strength.
It is believed in Indian Mythology that Goddess Durga is the creation of God
-from the god and the powerful amongst all. She is a Swaroop of Parvati who
fought for 9 days & 9 nights continuously with the demon Maysasoor a Pratik of
evil. It was a war between the “pratik" of goodness, strength, holy spirit &
virtue & the "pratik" of badness, evil strength and wickedness.
"S.S. cultural group" in association with "Taliyo Na Taley" wants to dispel
the prevalent notion that Navratri is just for fun & enjoyment. Instead it is
for showing our gratitude to the Goddess Durga & the Garbas would be & should
be sung in praises to her and to seek her blessings. And that Raas-Garba round
with folk traditional songs is accepted way of Bhakti to the holy lord-the god
mighty who is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient.
