It would indeed have been an interesting moment for BACHNA AE HASEENO if Bipasha Basu had not refused to seduce Ranbir Kapoor? The art of seduction as interpreted by Bipasha Basu on the silver screen in BACHNA AE HASEENO would have been one more addition to the fabulous oeuvre under this category for Hindi films.

As a matter of fact the ability to seduce a main lead main actor by either a female actor or a vamp has lost its charm in the Hindi films and along with it has gone the opportunity to have one more hit song to add to this category. Would it have happened in BACHNA AE HASEENO, the backdrop of Italy would have been an interesting background to picturise the same. May be an Italian casino, or the abode of a gangster, possibilities were endless.

When was the last time that a hero of the present generation was seduced by a female actor either as a dilatory tactics, or to allow the flowing of a narrative into a different category? The last time it was done and it also became famous was in DON where Kareena Kapoor tried to do it on Shah Rukh Khan and added one more feather in her oeuvre as an actor of amazing sensibility.

It was a regular feature in Hindi films as a matter of fact and even an actress like Madhubala did not think it twice before doing it on Ashok Kumar in HOWRAH BRIDGE and the song is one of the all time greats. Same was the case with Waheeda Rehman in TAXI DRIVER and the song, '' Kahin Pe Nigahen Kahi Pe Nishana'', is an all time hits. If the seduction was being done to distract a villain from going after the hero, then in the song was a message for the hero to run away from the scene as in the song from TAXI DRIVER. Even a Tanuja did it with aplomb in JEWEL THIEF and '' Raat Akeli Hai bujh gaye diye'', is one of the evergreen songs in Hindi whose charm still is mint fresh across generations. As a matter of fact was one to do a recheck on the hit songs that Aasha Bhonsle has belted out; large number of songs in her oeuvre would fall under the category of seduction songs.

If a list of all time great seduction songs were to be compiled, among the top songs would be ''Husn ke Lakhon rang from JOHNY MERA NAAM. It was this scene of seduction that had moved the career of Padma Khanna one notch above. Aruna Irani also would be included in this category as she had was given an opportunity to seduce two new comers of the film industries across generations, one being Rishi Kapoor in BOBBY, and second Kumar Gaurav in LOVE STORY. Even a Hema Malini did it in KRANTI and so did Parveen Babi in NAMAKHALAL.

Art of seduction as a matter of fact has been defined one of the principle bows in quiver of a female actor and if an opportunity comes across for the present actors they should pick it up, as it would give a different dimension to their performance and push them to a much higher level.
