Forbes in its latest announcement of the rich people across the globe, or people who are influential in decision-making process has included three Indian stars for the first time. The stars are Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. They have found their name in this list for the sheer fact that they are endorsing communication devices in one form or the other and owing to their endorsements directly or indirectly the communication companies have been able to carve out an iconic identity for themselves.
Were it not for the endorsements that AB Junior, Shah Rukh and Aamir do for Idea, Nokia and Samsung, they may not have been able to make to the list. Of the three Aamir Khan is the latest entrant, and he has started endorsing this brand, post GHAZINI (his new starrer), and if he has been given a place in the list it is an endorsement of the popularity that they command as also about the idea that they wish to convey.
In the case of Abhishek Bachchan and Aamir Khan, their campaign has an underlining social message as well, more so in the case of Abhishek who is either advocating doing away with identities or working for the cause of education, while in case of Aamir he is invoking the indefinable spirit of the human soul.
Communication after all is the basic edifice on which whole entertainment business hinges, and the rapport that the campaigns have been able to develop with the audience could be one of the key reasons for inclusion of these three stars into the Forbes List. Now other stars need to take up the endorsement of communication devices and products, if they wish themselves to be seen in the Forbes List. After all, it is the Holy Grail that announces to the world that this person is now in the august gathering.
The inclusion also provides the opportunity for the copy writers for further innovative campaigns so that new stars could be included in the Forbes List, as also the popularity of India based communication companies is brought to the notice of the world as well.
