While the jury may still be out whether SARKAR RAJ is a hit or not, one thing is for sure that Ram Gopal Verma has given a new image to Aishwarya Rai which is totally different from the glamorized image that she had for herself. After a long time a heroine has come in the serious corporate look that means business and Aishwarya Rai has delivered the role with panache. Ram Gopal Verma needs to be complemented for creation of such a strong character in SARKAR RAJ inspite of having such a strong presence of Senior B and Big B. As a matter of fact, Ram Gopal Verma is one of the few directors who give a very strong characterization to his heroines, even though the length of the role may be small. Were one to rewind back to SARKAR even though Supriya Pathak and Tanisha had small roles, it had an impacted presence.

Right from the time when Ramu appeared on the Hindi film terra firma through SHIVA he has given a new meaning to the characterization of female actors. In SHIVA it was Amla who was given this opportunity. It is altogether a different matter that she could not capitalize on the same. With RANGEELA Verma totally deconstructed the image that Urmila had, and she emerged as one of the glamorous Divas that Hindi film industry can boast off. The image that Urmila got for herself through RANGEELA still seems to be providing rich dividends to her. Verma had presented a totally deglamourized Urmila in SATYA, which provided the film viewing public about a hitherto unexplored side of Urmila. It was however not sufficiently explored subsequently and Urmila continues to be identified more with the glamorous image of RANGEELA. It is Ramu's ability to take the best out of his female actors and give their careers a new dimension, which probably is the reason why female actors after working with Verma continue to have extended careers, but for few aberrations like Antara Mali. The examples of Manisha Koirala in COMPANY and Shefali Chaya in SATYA are an ample case in point.

It would indeed be interesting, if Ram Gopal Verma having portrayed such strong female characters come out with a gangster film with a female cast, as it has not been attempted before. Ram Gopal Verma has specialized in surprising, and this surprise would really entice and enamor.
