The film is KHUSHBOO and he is introducing Avantika with this film and going by his track record the film should be able to give a new boost to his career as also to the stars being introduced through KHUSHBOO.

It is after a long time that a female lead is appearing in a role that is street smart and is an action girl. It has been a long time before a heroine making his debut is being given action-oriented role as well. The last time a heroine did this was probably in BETAAB where Amrita Singh made her debut and based on her debut she had gone along and appeared in heady and strong character oriented roles. KHUSHBOO also would have the distinction that a heroine from South is being introduced again in quick succession and with illustrative list of her peers as the guiding force, it would be of interest to see whether Avantika is also not able to carve her niche. The dearth of new faces, which can make a mark, is becoming a bane for the industry. Avantika has the advantage that she excels in action and if this trait is capitalized in KHUSHBOO a new face may become the face of Hindi film industry. Launch of new face needs good music and combination of Adnan Sami as the music director and Javed Akhtar as a lyricist seems to fit the requirement.

Pahlaj Nihlani has this unique knack of giving his female actors a role of importance right from his ILZAM. It was this approach, which had given Divya Bharti one of the biggest hits of her career SHOLA AUR SHABNAM. Industry still is to find a replacement for Avantika. Would Avantika be her replacement? Time would be the best judge to give a decision. Going by the track record of Pahlaj Nihlani it should.
