Incarceration always evoked haunting memories more so when the matter involves cross-border incarceration, and RAMCHAND PAKISTANI has been able to capture this nuance and the feeling of helplessness being confined into the four walls of a prison in an evocative a manner. The world inside a prison is a world, which is presented more in a romantic manner, however the reality is altogether different and RAMCHAND PAKISTANI tried to unravel this aspect. The stories that have had jail as a theme in the Hindi film have been able to link in an emotional manner with the audience. As a matter of fact till a few films ago, most of the Hindi films had a Kodak moment outside the gate of jails. Some of the films, which have made a difference in this genre, include:


BANDINI: As the name suggests is a story of a prisoner shot in the black and white era, and having one of the most memorable cinematic shots displaying the play of darkness and brightness, established Nutan as one of the finest actors of Hindi cinema.
