While the country is warming up to the elections, and getting into the mode of expressing the opinion about formation of a government, it has been a really long time when the Hindi film world cast its light on this aspect of film making. It is altogether a different matter that the stars having a lukewarm career in the films are ready to jump and adorn the political hat if they are given a choice. Sanjay Dutt is an exception in this regard as he is seeking vote though he still is at the prime of his career. Nagma and Diya Mirza are the latest converts in this category, and Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan are gravitating towards being a part of the process of elections through vote gathering exercise.
In such a scenario, it indeed is a difficult proposition to pick up films having political messages, but the difficulty is somewhat mitigated if the term of reference is taken from the times the films were being made
