Of a film career spanning more than two decades it is happening for the first time that Salman Khan would display a moustache on his face for his next release, DABANGG. One does not know, whether it is the Shatrughan Sinha effect, as Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi is making her debut against him in DABANGG, or it has got something to do with the title of the film, DABANGG. Literally DABANGG is one who dominates through his muscle power, and to display muscle power, one cannot have a face without a moustache and hence it is there in DABANGG for Salman Khan.
It indeed is one of the apparent paradoxes that Hindi cinema is quite in contrast to the actual scenario as far as treatment of the hair above the lip is concerned. Going clean shave still is in urban phenomenon, and keeping moustache is sign of growing up, and conventionally one only shaves off the moustache when father has passed away. No wonder our lead film stars are rather inimical to keeping moustaches. Here is a run down of such instances and examples of stars that tried to sport moustache for a film, but otherwise were clean shaved. Raj Kapoor was one such actor who loved his moustache, along with Raj Kumar incidentally.
