One does not know whether the makers of Zandu Balm would indeed be pleased or miffed that the brand name has been included in one of the songs in DABANGG, one thing is for sure that the latest addition to the song of film 'Munni Badnaam', where Malaika Arora Khan indeed sets the screen on fire would indeed be catalyst in bringing the audience back to the cinema halls when DABANGG releases on 10th September 2010.
Sajid Wajid has really a hit on their hands and the album indeed rocks. Underlining reason for the music of DABANGG making waves is the fact that in almost all the songs acoustic sounds have been used, and there is no reliance on synthetic or electronic instruments, to produce the music. The sense of identity that the common man develops with usage of such sounds manifests in the manner in which the songs start riding the popularity charts, as it was demonstrated by 'Mahangai Dayan' of PEEPLI LIVE, and now Munni Badnamm in DABANGG. Incidentally, Munni Badnam has been composed by Lalit Pandit as the guest music director, and it seems to have authority of Lalit Pandit that he has derived by virtue of being judge in number of music competitions on the television channels.
The title song 'Ud Ud DABANGG' in fact sets the tone with Sukhwinder delivering another hit and with the heavy acoustics marking entry of Salman Khan on to the silver screen in film, it indeed would hark back to the old era of film making where heroes used to arrive on to the scene with a bang. The impacted entry had become a thing of the past, may see a revival once again with DABANGG. DABANGG also has a song eulogizing the urge to drink 'Humka Peeni hai', and it also has the potential to become a hit as it is after a long time that a song has come in the modern times that associates sense of merry making with drinks, one only hopes that the morality brigade would not put a spanner when they hear the song.
Music has played a very important role in Salman Khan's career and it seems that with DABANGG he is in for another bulls' eye to extend his sovereignty over the box office.
