The manner in which rains have hit the northern part of the country with full force and have left the citizens running for cover has underlined the fact that one cannot take the natural elements for granted. Indeed, the magnificent manner in which they cascade down the landscapes around the country trigger the imagination of the filmmakers to catch it in as imaginative forms as can be possible. The frenzy that caught the imagination of the nation before RAAVAN's release was in fact an outcome of this manifestation i.e. to capture the magic of landscape in as diverse forms and in as hitherto unexplored places as it could be possible.
Though RAAVAN could not score at box office, here are some films with locations which became their underlining feature owing primarily to the manner in which rains formed the part of the landscape.
GURU and RAAVAN
GURU AND RAAVAN: Mani Ratnam discovered Athirpally, in Kerala in a small way in GURU, and took it to commanding heights with his cinematic exposition of rain in RAAVAN. As a matter of fact, whenever a cinematic history about rains is written RAAVAN would feature prominently in that history.
