It was not the time for him to go, as he had started making his presence felt once again through his various roles in television serials, but the process of thoughts are mere statement of the facts, as god's wishes and desires are supreme and Ravi Baswani has moves to his courts to regale him with his understated comedy timing.

He along with Rakesh Bedi and Farooq Shaikh wrote a new idiom in the era of comedy in Hindi cinema, of a comedy that was neat, was situational, and characterized by sheer timing and never transcended the limits of decency. At the cusp of a new era in entertainment, Ravi Baswani was one of the important edifices, and he underlined his performance with solid roles in CHASHME BADDOOR and JAANE BHI DO YAARON. For his performance in CHASHME BADDOOR Ravi Baswani was awarded the best comedian award as well. Ravi Baswani was one of the pioneers of his times as he was instrumental with his performances in facilitating the art films to graduate to be accepted by the common man as well.

CHECK OUT: JAANE BHI Ravi Baswani passes away

He was a pucca Delhiite who tried to balance between Delhi and Mumbai and possibly owing to this reason could not do justice to the enormous talent that he possessed. He died while pursuing the cause of cinema was on a trip to Nainital from Delhi to scout for location for his new film. His last film was ANTHONY KAUN HAI.

Surprisingly enough, Ravi Baswani was also quite a hit with the advertisement fraternity as in his career of more than two decades he tended to keep on popping in one or the other advertisement on a regular basis.

Primary reason for Ravi Baswani not moving out was his passion for theatre which he used to indulge in with great passion. He was a product of Delhi Dramatics, and was one of the pioneering members of the famous theatre group DARPAN and it was also one of the reasons why he kept on shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai. Every year, Ravi Baswani used to enact one play or the other which left a deep impression on the mind of the viewers.

May his soul rest in peace, and as a tribute to his memory, may some of his friends come forward and help in making the film that Ravi Baswani wanted to shoot. There would not be a better tribute to his memory.
