How can you add seriousness to your persona? Well, if the covenants of the Hindi film are to go by then wearing a pair of spectacles is the veritable tool that adds seriousness to a persona in the Hindi films. For that matter, even Hollywood films also hold the same view that if a sense of seriousness has to be shown through a character, he or she should be shown wearing a pair of spectacles. No wonder, Prakash Jha also resorted to the same maxim when he chose Ranbir Kapoor to play a serious character in his latest offering RAAJNEETI and advised him to wear a pair of spectacles. It indeed has morphed the face of Ranbir Kapoor into a serious actor. On the eve of release of RAAJNEETI, going down the memory lane to such for "serious" characters would indeed be the perfect opportunity.
1. MOHABBATEIN: When Shah Rukh Khan had to appear as a serious teacher in MOHABBATEIN, it was for the first time that Shah Rukh Khan sported a pair of spectacles. It is also interesting to underline that his other peers, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have yet to play a role where they would sport a pair of spectacles.
