Kunal Kapoor, when he made his debut with RANG DE BASANTI had impressed one and all with his performances, but he seems to have somehow lost the plot as he has not been able to come up with the same level of performances. Last time he was seen was in BACHNA AE HASEENO, in a rather inconsequential role, playing a second fiddle to Ranbir Kapoor.
LAMHAA again has an ensemble star cast, but in this Rahul Dholakia film, Kunal Kapoor could again get a chance to enact the same kind of power packed performance that he had played in RANG DE BASANTI, Kunal Kapoor is an intense actor, and he gives his best when he has to under play a role. LAMHAA indeed has the subject that would provide him this opportunity. It has an element of historicity associated with the subject, as it tries to unravel the mystery of the directionless trajectory in which Kashmir is going.
With Sanjay Dutt, returning to Kashmir after MISSION KASHMIR, now playing the role of a character that is on the other side of the law, Kunal Kapoor should get ample opportunity to display his acting prowess in a big way.
As a matter of fact LAMHAA could indeed turn out to be an interesting point of disruption both for Sanjay Dutt as well as Kunal Kapoor. Sanjay Dutt is one actor who has excelled whenever he has been pitted against another actor and the negative shades of emotions that he displays with panache in his acting brings out the best in other actors as well. It had all started with NAAM, where it was Kumar Gaurav who had given one of his best performances in his acting career, followed by KHALNAYAK, which also was a watershed film for Jackie Shroff. In the same manner with MUNNABHAI MBBS, Arshad Warsi's career got a revitalizing shot and he continues to ride on the lucky charm of MUNNABHAI.
Such being the lucky charm of Sanjay Dutt on his colleagues who work along with him, it is hoped that Kunal Kapoor would also be able to give a new shot to his nowhere career as of now. Kunal Kapoor needs such a LAMHAA in his career urgently.
