Even Shyam Benegal would not have thought that till the time his WELL DONE ABBA was released he would be sitting in the haloed portals of the Parliament and he may face questions about depiction of reality related to business of rural development as it is carried out in the rural areas in India.

For Boman Irani, it indeed is a lucky week, as he is playing a double role for the first time in his career in WELL DONE ABBA. His other film HUM TUM AUR GHOST is also hitting the screen this Friday. For Boman WELL DONE ABBA could be the triumph of his acting journey that started with MUNNABHAI MBBS and within a decade he has come out with a such a consummate performance that it has given the content of WELL DONE ABBA vibrancy of liveliness.

CHECK OUT: When Boman thought Minissha isn't perfect daughter

Playing the role of common man in the times, when it is more of an infra-dig, Boman Irani's picturization of the role of Abba is a role of an average Indian, who is honest to the core, but at the back of the heart is aware that at some point of time he may have to accept defeat as well. His honest demeanor does not change however, and this is what makes WELL DONE ABBA endearing.

WELL DONE ABBA is special for another reason. It is after a long time that a relationship between a father and a daughter has been interpreted on the silver screen through the directional baton of Shyam Benegal. There have been score of films where relationship between a daughter and a mother has been portrayed by various directors, but WELL DONE ABBA could be one of the first films where this relationship is explored in a detailed manner by Shyam Benegal.

WELL DONE ABBA is a political satire so to say on the commission raj that prevails in all the development oriented schemes that government makes for the rural India, and underlines with emphasis famous quote of late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi that of the one rupee allotted for the rural man, only 15 paisa reaches him finally. Rest is all gobbled up by the system.

WELL DONE ABBA could also be the break Minissha Lamba had been waiting for as her sexual avatar in KIDNAP could not endear the audience but the convincing performance made by her in WELL DONE ABBA could open the path for her for more meaningful roles. It would not be out of point to mention here that floored by her acting; the organizers at Dubai International Film Festival gifted her special holiday package to Bora Bora Islands.

WELL DONE ABBA could indeed be Well Done for both these actors who have got a lifetime opportunity to tell the world what quality actors they are.
