In the quest for modernization, the traditional means of communication have slowly been edged out either on the fringes of the cities or have been banished from the urban landscape. The causalities of these kinds include rickshaws and tongas. While rickshaws have got a new lease of life owing to injection of technology, even making debut in foreign universities, tongas simply are now on their way out. This being so, a tribute to tonga for their role in Hindi films is indeed the requiem.
