Sanjay Leela Bhansali has turned full circle and got back to his forte of exploring the drama called life through the eyes of persons who are physically challenged. He is the first director who has maintained this consistency in such a manner that it has become more of a pattern and his latest offering GUZAARISH follows in the same category.

GUZAARISH again is a story of a magician who during the course of his performance meets an accident and is confined to the chair and how he copes up in life. The original promos of GUZAARISH underlined the same where Hrithik Roshan was shown trying to battle it out with a fly sitting on a wheel chair.

For nothing, but this sheer ingenuity and the concern Sanjay Leela Bhansali needs to be lapped up by the audience. After all, which director would have the courage to launch himself with a film like KHAMOSHI, where most of the times the actors talk in the sign language and still be able to make a mark? Underlining feature was that he could convince an actor like Salman Khan to be a part of the film, and even an actress like Manisha Koirala to act at high point in her career.

In the same vein when he made BLACK he could convince Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerjee to play the lead roles in the film. No wonder, BLACK swept the Filmfare awards with 11 awards that year and it was selected by Time Magazine as fifth of the ten best movies for the year 2005.

It indeed is a pointer to the fact that Sanjay Leela Bhansali indeed is at his best when he grapples with the emotions, the turbulence and the tribulations when the characters of his cinematic oeuvre are those who are physically challenged in one way or the other.

May be that could be the reason why he also had the guts to return back to his pet theme and present to the Indian audience one more interpretation of existence with physical challenges, and triumphing over it through GUZAARISH. One thing is also apparent that Sanjay Leela Bhansali gets the best out of the best actors of the times as he provides them an opportunity to experiment with a range of emotions, an opportunity which the actors may not find in the normal circumstances.

Let's then do a GUZAARISH and hope that it makes its impact at the box office.
