Amazing it indeed is that Juhi Chawla who made her debut in Hindi cinema in SULTANAT or KARNAME KAMAAL KE (Arjun Hingorani was one of the few producers in Hindi cinema who liked to name his film by including 3Ks, and therefore he also named SULTANAT as KARNAME KAMAAL KE) is still going strong and is going to adapt new role for herself with Onir's new film I AM.

While her contemporary Madhuri Dixit took a bow for sometime, Juhi Chawla continued to maintain her passion for acting inspite of entering into married life. Juhi continued to maintain her association with cinema, returning to her Punjabi roots, and thereby also giving much needed shot in the arm to Punjabi cinema as she was one of the mainstream actors who decided to test waters in Punjabi cinema as well. Her association with Onir's I AM gave much needed shot in the arm to this unique experimentation in Hindi cinema where money required for making the film was invited from the fans of the cinema. This then being the case, it indeed is an opportune moment to run a snap shot of the key films that shaped Juhi Chawla's acting career.

QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK: First love story in the decades of eighties that shook the youth of the country and re-created an era of romance. Many other love stories followed, but none could match up to success of QSQT. There were murmurs in some quarters when the film was released that pairing of Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan was not matching, but the sheer fact that they acted in scores of movies subsequently underlined the fact that it was one of the hit pairs of Hindi cinema.
