In the modern context SHABRI would be the first film in all probability that would showcase and document the story of a slum lord and a lady gangster on the silver screen. Isha Koppikar as SHABRI travels around with a pistol in her hand and is a mean killer. While SHABRI may be a cinematic representation of the lady gangster in Hindi cinema, Hindi cinema has portrayed lady characters as gangsters for quite a long time. With release of SHABRI just round the corner, it indeed is an opportune moment to revisit the films where a lady has played the role of a gangster or a dacoit.
