In all the obituaries of Steve Jobs which were reported from around the world, the focus primarily was his association with and of establishing Apple as an iconic brand around the world, and how his invention had changed the contours of entertainment in the electronic age. But few obituaries talked about the revolution that he brought to the world of cinema, through his association with PIXAR, which is now considered as an iconic company as far as making animation based films are concerned.

While on the one hand through his continuous innovations in Apple he swayed the business professionals, it was through his intervention and innovation through PIXAR that he made whole of America eat out of his hands as far as business of entertainment was concerned, and created a new paradigm of animation by breathing life into the characters that were created after he took over PIXAR, once he was booted out of Apple.

The turnaround that he ushered in the entertainment industry began with TOYSTORY in 1995 and from then on the entertainment industry of Hollywood just kept on being soaked in one experience after another under his able guidance. One often wonders whether the children who watched TOY STORY in USA in 1995 when they grew up, grown as they were under the spell of TOY STORY, not got swooned and swayed by each of the inventions that Apple embarked upon when Steve Jobs joined the company once again after having been kicked out. Beauty of Steve Jobs at PIXAR lay in the fact that he created characters out of simple story lines and targeted children as his audience, in the bargain also enamoring the parents as well with his creations.

TOY STORY was followed by A BUG'S LIFE and then TOYSTORY2. Sequels rarely have hauled up the original creation but TOY STORY2 did much better than the original version, and then came MONSTERs INC which was the first film to create half a billion dollar mark in USA. It was followed by cult film FINDING NEMO which fetched it first best animated feature at the Oscars. One had thought that PIXARS would not be able to match the success of FINDING NEMO but THE INCREDIBLES in 2004 continued to maintain the anticipation. Other studios emulated the path of PIXAR but none could match up to PIXAR as far as handling the story line was concerned, which was manifest in CARS in 2006, RATATOUILLE in 2007 TOY STORY-3 in 2010 and CARS-2 in 2011.

Besides, he revolutionized the storage space through his cult creation I-pod which also brought in a new revenue generating model for good quality music and also underlined the fact that if one is a connoisseur one should listen to original music.

As long as the urge to listen to good music continues to kindle aspirations in we human beings, and as long as we continue to visit our childhood once again through animation films by PIXAR Steve Jobs would always have a fond place in the heart of Indian fans as well. After all, the Buddha like demeanor that he got eventually was revealed to him for the first time when he visited India and had a taste of LSD. May his soul help in organizing the state of affairs in the kingdom of the god?
