If one were to talk about the major achievements for the year 2011, which surprisingly enough, has not been talked about at all in the mainstream media is the manner in which films on children and films about children were made in the year 2011. It indeed was a very monumental year for the films made with children in mind, and the year end demands that a compilation of such films be made. Among the films on children which made waves are:
I AM KALAM Nila Madhab Panda's first film indeed made its presence felt in a big way. Here was a small tea vendor, who fired by the success story of a boy who aspire to be like President Kalam and to this he embarks on path of self education. The underlining theme of the film was that it is the quest for knowledge and the desire to educate oneself that would be the key in developing oneself and carving the path to prosperity. It is a film that had the underlining message that circumstances of birth should not be the reason to deprive a child of opportunities, and a fitting tribute to the film should be that principals of various schools around the country side ought to be shown this film.
