Minissha Lamba walked the ramp for PC Chandra's latest jewellery line at Kolkata Fashion Week. After the show, she told our correspondent that it was a 'queenly' experience.
This is the first time you walked as a showstopper for a jewellery collection. How was the experience?
Lovely! After wearing so many gold and diamond jewellery, I felt like a queen and as I walked the ramp, it was a queenly experience with everyone clapping...it was as if I was walking to my throne. (Laughs)
What was it like to dress like a Bengali on the ramp?
Bengali women are the best models for jewellery... even an ordinary piece look

"Bengali women are the best models for jewellery..." | extraordinary on them. This was the first time I wore a red-bordered off-white saree and that too in a Bengali style. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about my looks, because people have never seen me in this getup. But I think I looked quite nice on the ramp.
Is there any particular piece of jewellery in the collection that you would really love to wear personally?
There are quite a few of them...the bajubandhs are really tempting. Some earrings, bangles and necklaces are truly beautiful.
What kind of jewellery do you usually wear?
Honestly speaking, I don't like wearing loads of jewellery-it's the bare minimum. But I love wearing long earrings and have a good collection at home.
Do you swear by diamonds like most women?
I like diamonds, but there is no special fascination. I love wearing what looks good on me.
That means you will even pick up a piece of accessories from the street-shops if they look nice?
Yeah...I don't mind, if you take the responsibly that I won't get mobbed while street-shopping (Laughs). Before becoming a public figure, I did use to stop my car and get nice accessories for myself from roadside hawkers. I still get tempted to the vast collection of accessories from street.
Do you prefer western or traditional jewellery?
I prefer light fusion jewellery.
