Fardeen Khan needs no introduction. From PREM AGGAN to JANASHEEN, he has matured as an actor. In a
short span, he has made a name for himself in this world of cinema. The role in Ram Gopal'sJUNGLE and
PYAR TUNE KYA KIYA got praises. He did hog the limelight even in KHUSHI and OM JAI JAGADISH. However,
films like HUM HOGAYE AAPKE and KITNE DOOR… KITNE PASS could not register at the box-office, Fardeen
stood tall, looking natural on the screen with charming and cute smile and eyes, which the girls find it irresistible.
What are the films do you have post Janasheen?
I have few under-production films, which are at various stages. One is Dev directed by Govind Nihalani and it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri, Kareena Kapoor and others. This film will be completed in December. The next is Boney Kapoor's No Entry. This film is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley and Esha Deol. There is one more directed by Ken Ghosh for producer Tips. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and others.
What factors do you take into consideration while signing a film?
The story, the character, the director and the producer, while selecting a film. Each has its distinguished importance and anything lesser will reduce the importance. The films should be made and the director does justice of putting the screenplay on the screen. I do not like to do stereotype roles. Every character has to be interesting. Dev has a significant and realistic role. No Entry is an out - and - out comedy. Ken Ghosh's film is a thriller.
Your mentor, Ram Gopal Varma is busy with innumerable projects…
I did three projects with Ramuji... Jungle, Pyar Tune Kya Kiya and Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. Whenever there is a significant role, we will again work together.
There is handful of solo starrers...
I had many solo starrers like Hum Hogaye Aapke, Kitne Door… Kitne Paas, Khushi, Pyar Tune Kya Kiya... Even in multi-stars, there are no heroes near my age…
