The ever bubbly, scorpion girl Juhi Chawla is ready with the next release BAS EK PAL coming this September. Juhi is playing Ira Malhotra who is a former Miss India. The film is directed by Onir and is releasing on 15th September. BAS EK PAL is a film based on five characters whose lives changes inextricably after an incident.

So Juhi-Sanjay-Onir trio is back?
Ya, we've had MY BROTHER NIKHIL earlier which of course was an amazing project; we had a blast shooting it. Now Onir wanted me to do a role in his next film. I read the script and liked the character immediately. Luckily, Sanjay was also casted in this film with whom I have worked earlier. So, it's a kind of coincidence that we three are working again.

How about your character in the film?
I am playing Ira malhotra who is a former Miss India, again it's a co-incidence, she is wife of a businessman named Steve which is played by Rehaan engineer. She married this guy going against her family's wish. But later their relationship went into the ruins so she spends most of her time working for an old age home.  I liked the role because it was much of my age, it wasn't difficult for me get into the skin of character. It was a little intense character too because Ira was going through a phase in which things were not working for her, her relationship fell apart and her husband kept threatening her if she mentioned going out.

So BAS EK PAL is a relationship saga?
Yes, you can put it that way. It is an emotional story of five people bound by an incident that changes their lives concurrently. It's story, which portrays every emotion through which any person goes whether it is anger, jealousy, trauma, love, need, insecurity. Onir has beautifully woven all the emotions and portrayed it through five characters. All the characters are very modern contemporary, from the upper middle class background. Their lives revolve around a nightclub, which later turns their lives perplexingly.   

How was your experience working with other actors?
All the actors are very talented. I enjoyed the time spent with them on the sets. Sanjay is a rock star; I have worked with him earlier so we have a very good chemistry on screen. Urmila is a hard-working actress; she gets into the character punctiliously. Jimmy has also worked in different kind of cinema before. He also has a good role in the movie. Rehaan is an upcoming actor; he will surely get noticed in this movie with the role he is playing.

How would you rate Onir as a director?
It was immense pleasure working with him again. He is not just a good director but also a good person by heart. He takes all the pain to explain the depth of the character. And this is my second time with him so I didn't have any problem connecting the right chord with him as an actress. I also enjoyed thoroughly acting in MY BROTHER NIKHIL. When you know a director's style and his approach, it becomes easy as an actress to follow the instructions.

What are you expecting from the audience?
Well, it's the audience who are expecting a lot from us. Because earlier we have given them MY BROTHER NIKHIL also. But I would like to take this opportunity to tell the audience that BAS EK PAL is a very different film from MY BROTHER NIKHIL based on relationships. We have also got good response in OSEAN festival and I am positive about its appreciation when it releases.
