Bollywood actor robbed
Actor Murli Sharma must have wished he really was the cop he played in "Maqbool" when he returned to his car after a cup of coffee recently to find his bag missing with his passport, cheque books, income tax file... everything.
Murli, who played ACP Devsare in the acclaimed "Maqbool", had gone to a Café Coffee Day outlet here with close friend, Ashwin Chaudhary, who directed last year's "Dhoop", to grab a bite and some coffee. It turned out to be the most expensive meal of his life.
After his coffee and sandwich, he returned to his car to find his audio system and bag missing.
"I don't mind the system. The bag had everything. He could have just walked away with the system. Or else checked the bag once before stealing it. There is nothing useful for him in it," says the crestfallen Murli.
He says the bag, gifted to him by his brother, contained many valuable documents as well as CDs, photographs and negatives.
"I don't mind giving him money in return for my bag. I would'nt mind gifting him a nice discman. What would he do with a car system. I'm sure he is not a thief who owns a car. Maybe in return for my bag I can buy him a nice leather bag or a VIP suitcase," he says with a laugh.
"I will be happy even if I get back my passport and the income tax documents," says the actor who has just completed "Mangal Pandey" and is currently shooting for Harry Baweja's "Karm" directed by Sanjay F. Gupta and starring John Abraham.
