THE SPECTACULAR MUSICAL PREMIERE OF KISNA CHARMS IFFI ATTENDEES
Mumbai, 2nd December 2004 : The star studded launch of the 35th International Film Festival Of India in Goa, began with a stunning musical performance by the national award winning music composer A R Rahman from the yet-to-be-released film Kisna directed by 'showman' Subhash Ghai. The grand opening also witnessed a breathtaking performance by the debutante Isha Sharvani.
International Film Festival Of India [IFFI] had a splendid opening on the 29th November 2004 in the beautiful state of Goa, the inaugural function was graced by the presence of esteemed personalities from the film industry & the government. Amongst the attendees were Governor of Goa Mr. S C Jamir, Chief Minister of Goa Mr. Manohar Parriker, Union Minister of I & B Mr. Jaipal Reddy the film faternity was represented by veteran actor Dilip Kumar, Aamir Khan, Manisha Koirala, director Subhash Ghai, Yash Chopra, Vidu Vinod Chopra & Mira Nair. But the night definitely belonged to the dazzling musical recital from the Subhash Ghai epic Kisna. The very talented A R Rahman & Isha Sharvani stunned the audiences performing live in front of the packed audience. Newcomer Sunitha Sarthy sang beautifully to the sole English track 'My Wish comes true' and Udit Narayan & Madhushree recited the melodious 'Hum Hai Iss Pal Yahan'. The grand finale of this musical show was a ballet performance by the very young & extremely gifted danseuse Isha Sharvani who makes her debut in the film Kisna. Isha spellbound the audiences by performing on two tracks, an amazing rope dance on 'Aham Brahmasmi' & on the brilliantly choreographed 'Kahe Ujadi Mori Neend'.
KISNA is an epic duel between 'Karma' and 'Dharma' directed by Subhash Ghai & produced under the prestigious banner of Mukta Arts Ltd. The film stars Vivek Oberoi and debuts Isha Sharvani & British actor Antonia Bernath. This musical love story with an adventurous backdrop of 1940s India has two of the best music composers A.R. Rahman and Ismail Darbar with lyrics penned by the legendary Javed Akhtar.Kisna, the bilingual film is slated to release early 2005 with the music releasing worldwide on 6th December 2004.
