Producer denies involvement with Bollywood actress
By Subhash K. Jha, IANS
Stories linking "Deewaar" producer Gaurang Doshi with actress Flora Saini of "Love In Nepal" fame have baffled him.
"I hardly know her! But yes, T.P. Aggarwal, the producer of 'Love In Nepal', owed me money," Doshi told IANS.
"Until I got my money back there was no way he could've released the film. Beyond that I know very little about Flora. She was the heroine of a movie in which some of my money was involved. Nothing more, nothing less."
But Aggarwal claims there were innumerable missed calls from Doshi on Flora's mobile phone.
Doshi clucks his tongue impatiently. "That was for an item song in my film 'Deewaar'.
"We needed four belly dancers from the Middle East and an Indian presence to give an Indian touch to the item. We didn't want a high profile, up-there face, just an Indian presence. We approached Flora. She said she'll think it over and let us know. She finally said no. If I was involved with her wouldn't she have jumped at my offer?"
Doshi is incensed at efforts to create a story where there is none.
"I love to be in the news. But please don't link me with people I hardly know. Right now, I'm completely focussed on the release of my film 'Deewaar'.
"Sure, I need publicity for my film. But not this kind of sleazy publicity."
