The Hindi film, "Virudh - Against the System", starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Sanjay Dutt and John Abaraham, will have its muhurat performed at a function that will honour some leading crusaders who have fought evils entrenched in the social system.
According to film publicist Spice PR, the list of guests to be honoured includes environmentalist Medha Patkar, former chief election commissioner T.N. Seshan, social activist Anna Hazare, editor Tarun Tejpal and environmentalist Sundarlal Bahuguna.
The venture of A.B. Corp, in collaboration with Satyajeet Movies, will have its English version titled "Versus". It will have an international actress who is yet to be finalized.
The entry for the function will be by invitation.
Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh will sound the clapper board for the muhurat shot for the film to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
The concept of honouring India's doughty fighters runs well with the movie's theme and script.
Speaking about the project, Amitabh Bachchan told IANS, "Our movies are becoming more and more popular abroad.
"The subject of the film will interest audiences globally and if I have to address a much wider audience then producing a bilingual makes good business sense."
Asked about the rumour that A.B. Corp is about to produce a movie called "Autograph" which will star Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, the Big B. said, "No, I'm not aware of any such movie that we are producing."
But according to the grapevine, the script of the movie is so unique that both Boney Kapoor and A.B. Corp are pitching for this movie.
Earlier,, Aishwarya Rai too had told IANS that she was considering a movie with Abhishek Bachchan, but nothing was confirmed yet.
The muhurat of Vipul Amrutlal Shah's "Waqt - The Race Against Time" starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Priyanka Chopra had its first clapper board sounded at Juhu beach here at a public function.
Along with "Waqt", the muhurat of "Virudh' is seen as signifying a trend of moving the ceremonial first shot of movies that used to be performed in cosy five-star hotels, out into the open.
