I am being typecast: Shilpa Shetty
For quite some time now, Shilpa Shetty has been afraid of getting typecast.

"I don't mind the dancing as you know that is my speciality. But characters that don't hold any appeal do worry me and that's why I have reduced my assignments to just two films per year," Shilpa told IANS.
She is leaving no stone unturned to get her career back in shape.
Be it performing with Akshay Kumar in Pakistan or shunning her glamorous image in a film titled "Phir Milenge" for ace director Revathi, she is doing it all.
Shilpa's immediate future release happens to be "Garv", but it doesn't excite her.
"I'm really not so excited about this film. I mean it was great working for the film and I really hope the film does well but there was nothing great from my end for this film.
"I think my character has the same shades that you have seen in many of my films."
"Garv", though highly anticipated by the fans of Salman Khan, has been rather low profile, with little publicity and insipid music.
Shilpa is currently shooting for an item number for a film called "Khamosh - A Silent Witness". Directed by Deepak Tijori of "Oops" fame, the film has Shawar Ali and Gladrags Mr. World Rajeev Singh.
"I play the role of a high society escort girl. It is a psychological thriller, which is about six characters and something that happens one night. I'm called Sonia who is trying her best to change her life.
"Though I did not want to do this film when I heard about playing an escort girl, the way Deepak my director narrated the story, I felt it had something new to offer," says Shilpa.
Deepak had to really convince her to smoke in the film as she is averse to smoking. "The item song we are filming currently is the only song in this movie. The rest of the music will be background music."
Shilpa met some high society escort girls and tried to learn their body language. "They don't have a typical foul language as they are well-to-do."
Tijori's film is being shot in a start-to-finish schedule of one month and will be ready for release by the second week of July. The film is of a two-hour duration.
Shilpa is very excited about another film, "Phir Milenge", directed by Revathi of "Mitr" fame and which co-stars Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
She says she was surprised to see herself in this film as she has trimmed her long tresses to suit the role.
"I'm also part of 'Dus' opposite Sanjay Dutt. I play the character of a very tough undercover agent in this film," she reveals.
The film directed by Anubhav Sinha was launched April 17. The star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, Shilpa, Esha Deol, Raima Sen and Pankaj Kapoor.
