I have made many new friends at NASA: Shah Rukh
Shah Rukh Khan is back from the US where he shot for "Swades" at the headquarters of the space agency NASA.
"Ashutosh Gowarikar was the first Indian filmmaker to write a script that required the protagonist to shoot inside NASA. We did not have any difficulty thanks to Ashutosh who is now known in the US because of his 'Laagan'," Shah Rukh told IANS at a recent product launch.
"I have made so many new friends at the NASA centre. They were extremely cooperative and I thoroughly enjoyed shooting there. There are so many Indians working there, which was a good thing as they went out of their way to help us shoot there," he added.
NASA's website www.nasa.gov even carried an article on Bollywood. The website states: "Gowarikar is directing at Launch Pad 39A, where a strong wind blows in from the Atlantic, making life difficult for the hair and make-up crew. Dozens of important looking people with clipboards and headsets run around making sure everything's just right and that Shah Rukh Khan, the film's lead actor and one of India's biggest stars, has plenty of water and shade as the Florida summer kicks in."
In the film, an engineer played by Shah Rukh, leaves his home in India and comes to the US to work for NASA.
